W. T. Ellis

William Thomas Ellis (1863–1923), often credited as W. T. Ellis, was an American journalist and author noted for travel writing and religious reportage. He worked in newspaper journalism and became widely read for dispatches that combined on-the-ground observation with an interest in faith, missions, and public life. Ellis traveled extensively and wrote about places and events for a broad American audience, helping popularize a style of explanatory reporting that blended description, interviews, and moral reflection. In addition to periodical work, he published books drawn from his reporting, especially on international travel and religious themes. He died in 1923.
