Wael Ghonim

Wael Ghonim (born 1980) is an Egyptian internet activist and former Google marketing executive. He became widely known for his role in the 2011 Egyptian revolution, particularly through his involvement with the Facebook page “We Are All Khaled Said,” which helped mobilize public opposition to police brutality and government corruption. After being detained during the uprising, he gave a televised interview that drew international attention. Ghonim later chronicled his experiences and views on digital activism in his memoir *Revolution 2.0* (2012). He has also worked in the technology sector in the Middle East and has spoken publicly about social media’s political impact.
