Wayne Walter Dyer

Born in Detroit, Wayne Dyer joined the Navy after high school, before becoming a guidance counsellor and later a professor of counselor education. While still an instructor, he wrote the book Your Erroneous Zones, and then quit his job to tour and market the book. His hard work propelled the book to the top of the bestseller lists, and put him on talk shows nationwide. From there he moved on to audio tapes and an influential career as a motivational speaker.
