William Bruce Cameron

Born in Michicgan, Bruce Cameron, had a fairly uneventful youth before attending the all-male Westminster College after high school. Once out of college, he wanted to be a writer, but like many found that it rarely pays well and turned to other jobs to support his family. His big break came from an internet column he began in 1995, which gained national syndication and an audience from 50 countries. One column, “8 simple rules for dating my teenage daughter,” became a book and later a TV series.
