William Feather

William Arthur Feather (1889–1981) was an American publisher, author, and columnist best known for his syndicated aphorisms, “Featherisms.” Born in Jamestown, New York, he built a career in publishing and business writing, becoming a prominent voice in practical self-improvement and management advice. Feather served as editor of *The American Magazine* and later founded the publishing firm William Feather & Co. His short, pointed observations—often focused on work, character, thrift, and common sense—were widely reprinted in newspapers and quoted in speeches and business settings. Over his long career he wrote numerous books and articles aimed at helping readers succeed in everyday life and enterprise.
