William Weld

William F. Weld (born 1945) is an American politician and lawyer. A member of the Republican Party, he served as Governor of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1997. Weld later ran on the Libertarian Party ticket in 2016 as the vice-presidential nominee. He has been active in public life as both an elected official and a national candidate, and is often associated with moderate, fiscally conservative politics. Weld’s career spans government service and legal work, and his Massachusetts governorship remains the best-known period of his public leadership.
