Woodrow Wilson

Thomas Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924) was the 28th president of the United States, serving from 1913 to 1921. Before entering national politics, he built a career as a scholar and teacher of political science and history, earning a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and teaching at institutions including Princeton University. He became president of Princeton and later governor of New Jersey before winning the presidency. Wilson authored influential works on American government, notably *Congressional Government* (1885). As president, he led the nation through World War I and promoted the League of Nations, receiving the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize.
