Zig Ziglar

Zig Ziglar was the tenth of twelve children born to parents John Silas Ziglar and Lila Wescott Ziglar. Born in Coffee Country, Alabama, he spent most of his early childhood in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Ziglar served in the Navy during WWII and attended the University of South Carolina. He married his wife Jean in 1946. After working as a salesman and executive of the Automotive Performance Company, Ziglar became a motivational speaker and author, giving motivational seminars and writing books such as See You at the Top (1975) and Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World (1985). He continued to work until 2010 and died in 2012, at age 86, of pneumonia.
