Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That's the problem.

Interpretation
The line contrasts speaking with listening, suggesting that the deeper failure in human–animal (and, by extension, human–human) relationships is not a lack of communication but a lack of receptivity. “Talk to animals” evokes imagination, empathy, and a willingness to cross boundaries; “listen” implies humility and attention to what is not centered on oneself. The “problem” is thus a moral and perceptual one: people may project their own meanings onto others, but few are patient enough to attend to another creature’s signals, needs, or perspective. Read broadly, it becomes a critique of self-absorption and a plea for attentive, compassionate understanding.
