Quote #190163
Crave for a thing, you will get it. Renounce the craving, the object will follow you by itself.

Interpretation
In Sivananda’s broadly Vedantic and yogic moral teaching, “craving” (attachment-driven desire) is treated as a primary cause of restlessness and suffering. The saying contrasts two inner postures: grasping after an object versus relinquishing the compulsive need for it. The paradox suggests that intense wanting can distort judgment and keep one in a cycle of dissatisfaction, while renunciation—understood as non-attachment rather than mere deprivation—restores clarity and equanimity. From that steadier state, one may act more skillfully, and outcomes (including the desired object) may arrive naturally, without inner bondage. The emphasis is less on magical “attraction” than on freedom from dependence on results.
