We are all connected; To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically.

Interpretation
Tyson’s line compresses a scientific worldview into a moral and philosophical reminder: separateness is largely an illusion. “Biologically” points to shared evolutionary ancestry and interdependence among living things; “chemically” to the cycling of matter through Earth’s systems (air, water, soil, bodies); and “atomically” to the cosmic origin of the elements forged in stars and dispersed through space. The escalating scale—from organisms to planet to universe—invites humility and a sense of kinship grounded not in sentiment but in physical fact. It also implicitly argues for stewardship: harming ecosystems or other people ultimately reverberates through the same connected material networks that sustain us.
