Quote #91517
We are all failures- at least the best of us are.

Interpretation
Barrie’s line turns the usual hierarchy of success on its head: the “best” people—those with the highest ideals, keenest self-knowledge, or most exacting standards—are often the ones most aware of their shortcomings. “Failure” here is less a verdict on talent than a measure of aspiration: to aim high is to fall short in some respect, and to reflect honestly is to feel that shortfall. The remark also carries a consoling, democratic implication: if even the finest among us experience failure, then failure is not an exception but a common human condition, and a spur to humility rather than shame.
