If God only used perfect people, nothing would get done. God will use anybody if you’re available.

The saying stresses a recurring theme in Warren’s evangelical teaching: God’s work is not limited to the morally flawless or spiritually “elite.” By contrasting “perfect people” with “anybody…available,” it reframes usefulness as a matter of willingness and responsiveness rather than merit. The line also functions pastorally, countering shame and perfectionism that can keep believers from serving. In this view, human limitation is assumed; what matters is showing up—making oneself teachable, dependable, and ready to act—so that divine purposes can be carried out through ordinary, imperfect lives.
